The Cost of Heroism

On Easter Sunday. Levi and Erika Teuton and their daughter Kya were on their way to have dinner with their family when they passed a terrible accident.  As Erika and their daughter looked on. Levi didn't hesitate to reach into a burning vehicle to save a young man's life.  The 15-year-old boy was trapped in the burning truck and pleading for help when Levi approached.  Without thought for himself, Levi rescued the boy.  Unfortunately, at that moment the two propane tanks that were on board exploded, engulfing Levi in flames.  

Levi suffered 3rd Degree burns over the entire right side of his body and on both of his legs.  He is currently in the burn unit at Tampa General in critical condition.  During the cleaning of his burns, his body went into shock, and the next few days are crucial to his recovery. Tomorrow, doctors will perform the first of what is sure to be many surgeries.  

Levi's recovery will be slow and painful, but those of you who know him know that he is a fighter.  His strong faith in God  and his loving family will be with him every step of the way.  These things, along with the multitude of prayers from around the country, will get him through this journey.  

However, this amazing man's act of heroism will undoubtedly put a huge financial strain on this young couple.  Erika is staying with Levi at the hospital and is not able to work, and it will surely be a long time before Levi is recovered enough to return to work.  Any help we can give them with their day-to-day expenses, as well as what are sure to be extensive medical bills, would be greatly appreciated. 

Please, in addition to your prayers, donate whatever you can.  No amount is too small to help relieve them of their financial stress so that they can concentrate on Levi's recovery.
