Grant and Tarra Stevens welcomed their handsome baby boy Levi into the world on Monday the 1st of October.
Everything was going smoothly for the first few days as they enjoyed their new family member, until Levi suddenly became very ill. He was transferred to ICU and was undergoing many test to find out what was going on. After a few days of intense care and love from all the doctors and nurses, Levi was diagnosed with a vary rare metabolic condition. His little body cannot break down foods containing protein in the usual way. Treatment includes a very special diet, medication and close monitoring.
As all new parents know, welcoming a baby into the world can be very stressful. Grant and Tarra have not had a easy run and couldn’t have prepared themselves for this frightening and confusing journey. Their strength and positive outlook have already shown us all what incredible parents they are.
Many of their family and friends are trying to process this crazy situation and everyone is wondering what they can do to help. Bunches of flowers and plush toys are sweet gestures but there are many beneficial things the new parents need to purchase to give Levi the best start to life.
