Levi Garrett - Medical Expenses

Donation protected
Levi Garrett is 7 years old and is a 2nd-grade student at Straughn Elementary. His parents are Jonathan and Nikki Garrett. He has a twin brother named Luke. His grandparents are John and Ellen (Peek) Joyner, John and Michelle Williamson, and Ellison and Kay Garrett.

Any donations are greatly appreciated to help the Garrett family with their medical expenses.

This is his story:
By the age of 2, Levi had fought salmonella, e-coli, and MRSA. If it is something different, Levi will catch it. Around age 2 we noticed his eyes were a little different from his twin, Luke. We were worried he was going to be cross-eyed but instead he was diagnosed with exotropia. A very extraordinary gift, but also a disability. His vision is 20/20 but he sees out of each eye individually and can focus on 2 things at one time. He has been watched closely over the years. In 1st grade, he was diagnosed with migraines due to his eyes. By the end of the day, his eyes are so tired they don't want to turn back in. He has trouble reading because it's hard for him to focus with both eyes. Last August, we found that his eyes were getting worse and it was time to do something. We started talking to CRS and got Levi into their vision clinic. We started seeing specialists in Mobile immediately. The eye doctor in Mobile stated Levi would have to have eye surgery but since Levi's eyes are wider apart than most, we would need to see an ENT and a cranial facial specialist. After CTs, Levi was diagnosed with frontal nasal displeasure. We also found out that his nose is 90% obstructed and his brain is actually going into his nasal cavity. The bone at the top of his nose between his eyes is nonexistent. They stated if we don't move his eyes closer together then the eye surgery will not work. So on May 29th, he underwent facial bipartition. They removed bones, moved his eyes closer together, rebuilt his nasal, and inserted titanium plates in his forehead. This was the first time this doctor performed this major of a procedure because it is so rare. He stated most doctors only perform it once or twice in their careers. It will be a long road. He was put in a medically induced coma and after the hospital stay, he will still need 6 weeks or more to recover. Then after all of that heals, he will have to have eye surgery. I'm asking for prayers for all of us over the next few months.
