Burial & Memorial for Levi Hunter Blanchard 


Dear Friends & Family, 

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the recent passing of our beloved Levi Hunter Blanchard.  Levi passed on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Lafayette General Hospital due to his life long battle of hemophilia (free bleeder) and late stage liver disease that progressed faster than we expected.   

Levi leaves behind a 12 year old son, Matthew Blanchard.  Whom he loved and adored.  Levi was a hands on DAD to Matthew during every moment they had together.  Levi was a caring, beautiful person inside and out with a very big heart.

Levi's legacy also includes the honorable title of a Front Line Soldier, serving his country in the Army National Guard 11B Infantry for 6 years.  Levi completed training in Fort Benning, GA.  before completing a full tour in Japan. 

Levi had an amazing personality. He was highly intelligent, funny, and always full of life. He was an avid fisherman and outdoors man and LOVED spending as much time as possible with his son and his dad Jimmy Blanchard.  They did everything together including participating in many fishing tournaments.  Levi's bright smile and beautiful laughter will forever be imprinted in the hearts of his son, his sons mother, his dad, his older brother Joshua Blanchard, his grandmother, his aunts and uncles and 1st cousins he considered his longest known best friends.  He will forever live in the hearts and memories of countless extended family and friends left behind.  But, we shall find peace in the memories we all share with him, peace in knowing he is no longer suffering and now standing beside his mother Shawn Hulin Blanchard, in the presence of Jesus Christ.  

My name is Michaelyn, known too many as "Mikki".  I am one of Levi's first cousins. (Daughter to his father's sister,  Marlene Blanchard). On behalf of the family unfortunately, we are here in a position we never thought we would be in so soon.  In the most devastating and humble of circumstances, I have setup this GoFundMe account to help ask for donations to ensure we are financially able to remove the financial burden from his father alone during these very difficult times. While ensuring, Levi gets a proper burial and memorial. We ask in lieu of flowers if you could please donate any amount towards these  unexpected expenses we have been placed with. These expenses include Levi's cremation, an Urn, a keepsake Urn for his son, a memorial (when it is safe to do so and restrictions are lifted), a burial plot and head stone. 

We are absolutely devastated by Levi's passing and are struggling to find the funds to cover all of these up front expenses.  We are so very grateful for every donation during this difficult time. We would also like to thank everyone who has reached out to us, and kept our family in your prayers.  This has been a very difficult time for all that loved him and knew him.
