My name is Amy Perez and I am a single mother and yoga leader who is dedicated to serving humans through the practice of yoga, meditation and mindfulness. I am raising money to attend Yoga Teaching Training with Baron Baptiste at the Baptiste Institute.
Yoga, meditation and mindfulness has allowed me to grow and heal from trauma. Through my own healing, I discovered years of trauma and grief buried deep within myself and I commit to the work of yoga to uncover it and move through it.
For three years, I've studied Baptiste Yoga through an affiliated school in Philadelphia's Fishtown community and completed my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training. While I have continued to learn and grow from the writings and resources of Baron Baptiste, I have never experienced the awakening of his world renowned Level 1 Training Program.
Since completion of my certifications, I teach Yoga for Recovery, Youth Yoga with the Baptiste Foundation and took on the role of Director of Mindfulness & Yoga Programs for a non-profit in Philadelphia. I provide yoga to underserved communities to include Roots 2 Rise in Philadelphia and NYC Yoga Project in Brooklyn, New York.
The money from this fundraiser will go directly to support my tuition for this Level 1 Training. This training will provide me the tools to remove obstacles from my teaching and leading that are standing in the way of me showing up fully authentic and will allow me to remove those obstacles moment to moment. This training will also allow me to teach and lead my students through the Baptiste Methodology in my own self expression.
I am grateful for all my teachers and students for all the lessons and gifts they have given me. I appreciate any contribution that you provide to me and know that the tools I learn will go directly back to all of you.
