Help Madelynn Fight Leukemia & Support Our Family Through This Journey
On October 11, 2024, our world changed forever. My sweet 1-year-old daughter, Madelynn, was diagnosed with leukemia. Since that day, we have spent countless weeks in hospitals, facing procedures, treatments, and moments no parent should ever have to watch their child endure.
Madelynn’s battle is even more complicated because she was born with heart problems and has already undergone two heart surgeries in her short life. She also has a rare genetic condition called CMMRD, which makes her highly prone to developing childhood cancers. Sadly, this condition is the reason she is now facing leukemia and why her fight will be a long and challenging one.
Despite it all, Madelynn is truly the strongest little fighter in the world. She smiles through pain, she keeps her beautiful spirit, and she continues to amaze everyone who meets her. But the treatment is taking a toll. Because of the intense chemotherapy, her legs have weakened to the point where she must now undergo casting for the next two months to help her walk again.
I am now home full-time as her full-time caregiver, unable to work, caring for Madelynn, her 3-year-old older brother, and her newborn baby sister. Our baby girl’s birth was a miracle in itself, and through her arrival, we were able to do cord blood banking specifically for Madelynn’s cancer and long-term genetic condition, which we hope will help in her future treatment and quality of life.
We have no financial support or outside help. Every day is focused on keeping Madelynn healthy, attending hospital visits, managing her treatments, and taking care of our other two children.
On top of everything, we currently live two hours away from Portland, where Madelynn’s doctors and specialists are located. The long drives are exhausting for her fragile body and difficult for us to manage. We urgently need to move closer to her medical care so she can get the treatments and emergency help she needs without the long, painful travel. We also need a reliable vehicle to safely get her to and from the hospital, especially during emergencies or unexpected appointments.
This GoFundMe will help us cover bills, utilities, transportation, moving costs, a dependable car, and basic living expenses while I focus on what matters most: being by my daughter’s side every single day she fights for her life.
Every donation, no matter how small, will directly help us keep our home, move closer to her care, and make sure we can travel safely for her treatments. And if you cannot donate, please consider sharing Madelynn’s story so it can reach more hearts.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading, donating, or sharing. Your kindness means the world to us.
