Help Liam battle leukemia and paralysis!

I’m asking for help for my 9 year old grandson, Liam! For about 3 weeks, Liam had been telling his parents he was having extreme back pain. He was screaming in pain 22 hours a day. His mom took him to urgent care about a week after he started complaining and they said that it was just a pulled muscle. They didn’t run any x-rays! But, even with medication, he was in pain and it was intensifying. Finally, mom was concerned (and exhausted from his screaming all night), with her intuition and me persuading her to go back in (I thought maybe he had the back problem I do), she went back to urgent care. While there, Liam had anxiety over them taking X-rays. So, they referred them to Riley children’s hospital because they could sedate him for X-rays and possibly MRI. Within minutes of the exam, the doctors pretty much were heading in that direction due to his pain and swollen lymph nodes and his skin was pale. After further tests, they confirmed he had cancer. The following day, they did bone marrow biopsy to confirm what form of leukemia that he had. He has ALL LEUKEMIA. They put him in icu the night they arrived because his wbc was so out of control that they were concerned with stroke or heart problems. The doctors seem to be hopeful. But, they’ve told us that we’re going to be fighting this battle for about 2 years! Liam has to be in Riley for a couple of MONTHS and then weekly thereafter. As if this wasn’t scary enough, 2 days after the diagnosis, we were informed that Liam will be permanently paralyzed because the mass on his spine caused damage to his spinal cord and the nerves!!!
Mom and dad were both working full time jobs just to make ends meet. But, in the realm of things, mom was terminated her job because she took time off to take care of Liam. Dad took a few weeks off but found out short term disability doesn’t pay for children, just if it were himself. That took a big hit on them financially. They’re going to have bills. They’re going to need to eat and travel back and forth to the hospital. And, due to Liam’s paralysis, they’re going to have to make some adjustments in their home, if not potentially move to a handicapped accessible home.
I’m asking for your help to help them with this burden so they can focus on Liam without having that stress on their shoulders too. I don’t know how much to put on here because I don’t know what the future holds. But, this is going to be a very big help to them.
Alyssa and Kyle also have a 3 year old daughter that myself, her Nana, and other family members have been helping with because she isn’t allowed in the hospital! I have had to temporarily stop my working to help them with her because she is with me most of the time. But, I don’t need help! Help with her needs is what would help me.
All donations go directly to them in their account. Alyssa gets your donation deposited AS IT COMES IN! If you are uncomfortable with donating on here, send her a message and she will give you information about other ways to donate!
And, thank you all for your prayers and support!
