Hello, my name is Andrea Guadalupe Barbosa Uc, although many know me as Andy.

Today I write these words as a mother, with a broken heart, but also with the hope that there are still kind-hearted people willing to help.

My son, Angel Joan Dominguez Barbosa, is only 14 years old. At such a young age, instead of living his teenage years, going to school, laughing with friends, and dreaming about his future, he is now facing one of the hardest battles anyone can imagine: Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).

Receiving this diagnosis changed our lives completely.

No mother is prepared to hear that her child has cancer. No mother is ready to watch her child suffer, feel fear, grow weaker, and go through such harsh treatments.

Angel is a brave, kind, and strong boy. Even in the middle of his suffering, he continues to fight with a strength that inspires me every single day.

To make matters even worse, my husband died about 4 years ago. So, yes, I'm dealing with this as a single mother of 2 boys. I even had to put a pause on my pastry business to be at the hospital with Angel.

As much as we wish we could do this on our own, the reality is that we cannot. And as a mother, today I set aside my pride to ask for help for the most valuable thing in my life: my son’s health and his life.

Every donation, no matter how small it may seem, represents hope.
