Leua's Bar Exam Costs and Expenses

Though I'm sure most of you already know me, for those of you who don't- My name is Crystal Leua Correa and I'm a 3rd year law student at the Seattle University School of Law. If you know me, you know that becoming a lawyer has been a dream of mine since I was in the 7th grade. Thus far, my entire educational background centers around the law and every step I've taken up until this point has been in pursuit of a legal career. If you know me, you also know that this journey has been incredibly difficult. Getting to this point has taken a huge amount of sacrifice, and I've given everything I have in order to make this dream come true (emotionally, physically, and financially). As a Samoan girl from White Center who grew up with very little in terms of academic and financial opportunities/resources, this dream often felt impossible. Yet somehow, through the unconditional love and support of my community members and family, I've finally made it to the finish line. Despite the difficulties associated with this pursuit, the past few years have been the most fulfilling, worth-while years of my life.

As a 3rd year student, I will need to take and pass the bar exam in July of this year (2024) in order to receive my license to practice law in Washington. Unfortunately, the fees and costs associated with taking the bar exam have proven prohibitive for me, as I do not have the necessary resources/funds to cover all of these fees and costs. This is because as a student, I cannot work full-time throughout the school year in order to pay for these costs because my course load is full-time. Because my family and I do not have significant financial resources at our disposal, the payment of these costs would pose an extreme hardship on us.

I made this GoFundMe page in order to ask for your help. I know that times have been very hard, so please do not feel bad AT ALL if a donation is not in your ability right now. If you are able, I'm asking my friends and family members to donate any amount that they can to help with covering as much of the costs as possible. Even the smallest donations add up and are a HUGE help to us, so please don't feel obligated to donate huge amounts! I mean it when I say that ANYTHING helps and is MUCH appreciated!
