Letting Myself Be Seen: Asking Community Support

Donation protected
After years of intense transition, financial strain, and a growing uncertainty around my career, I am calling community to support me in going deeper into my purpose. I am grieving having to publicly ask for help, while feeling the relief of letting myself be seen.

As a wellness practitioner, it’s important for me to practice the act of releasing shame as I’ve suggested to others many times before.

Yes, my career path has been impacted because of government decisions.
Yes I have applied to over 1000 jobs from director roles to barista, and I have sat with my ego around what employment looks like for me as I enter into 35 years of age with 3 degrees.
Yes I’ve practiced daily affirmations, entrepreneurship, going back to school, pulling out my 401k, living off my savings, and currently drowning under the gig economy.

Within these 3 years of inconsistent financial flow I still have:

  • Earned my 200HR in Yoga
  • Earned my degree in fashion (as of Spring 2026)
  • Traveled for spiritual initiation, writing workshops, and “Eat, Pray, Love” vibes
  • Took Black speculative fiction writing courses through
  • Started my comprehensive pilates program
  • Wrote books for non profits and schools
  • Curated wellness experiences from San Francisco to Pittsburgh Bay Area
  • Created and executed rites of passages for my God Children
  • Created, CREATED, CREATED!

The Truth of This Moment

This is no miracle story but there are miracles in my story; I did not survive 3 years unemployed because I was lucky; I took every loss and created within my limitations. I want to believe the miracles are to continue.

Unemployment didn’t stop me from living, but years of unemployment has limited my capacity to dream, and impacted my nervous system.

As a God mother,
As an educator that took children in, picked them up, connected with their families,
As a wellness curator,
As a “I don’t want nobody in my business” but we are all eachothers business,
As a student that watched my mentor die alone because of shame,

I am asking for help.

I have tried everything but revealing myself.
Here’s to letting you see me.

Thank you.
