I was hoping to never have to ask for help especially after I had gotten to a place where I was taking control of mine and my boys life after divorce and the most challenging year of my life BUT Landlord has let me know that he MUST sell the house we’ve been in for almost 5 years and we have 3-4 months (now only 6 weeks left) to find a place, pack, find people to help move and afford a deposit of over $2300 AND moving costs all on my own! However if life and needing to move wasn’t challenging enough for us alone, last year was beyond what most could endure. I spent the entire year consoling my boys who both have disabilities (Autism and Down syndrome) and sharing as many memorable times as I could with them as they were struggling so hard after the divorce and their Dad moving far away, my Mother to Dementia and other needs, my Father who had a heart attack and passed away and BOTH of our kitties passed away to old age just months apart AND my son went through major leg and hip surgery with months of healing ALL in one year! I’m almost at the point of pure exhaustion but thankfully to my faith and the deep Love and commitment to my boys, somehow I am still standing-barely! The good news is I have found a place after a couple months of diligent searching and little sleep and been accepted and I move in July 1st, the not so good news is I have NO idea how I’m going to come up with the deposit and after many resources researched I don’t income qualify for much of the help out there! I have enough to cover my bills, the rent and afford our daily life and expenses but have no savings to fall back on after the divorce and catching up so much debt last year!

First and foremost I am a proud Mom of two boys I adore! I am a trained Parent Mentor, have founded a few Facebook groups for parents with children with Down syndrome among other supportive and informative groups for families and until I had to step down after my divorce I was an Executive Board Member at my local Down Syndrome Association and a community volunteer for many years.
After speaking to a friend I have come to the conclusion that I must ask for help as it’s dire I have a place to go to for my boys! She convinced me that after all I’ve been through, it’s ok to ask for a little help every now and then but it’s still difficult.
Please help us if you can and/or share! My boys and I would be grateful and vow to pay it forward the best way I know how and have always been committed to giving back. We sincerely thank you!
