#letthemride Legal costs D. Rawlins & J. Connor

This fund is to raise monies for Irish international Grand Prix riders Dane Rawlins and James Connor’s additional legal
costs. These costs are being incurred as
they fight for the right to realise a
lifelong ambition to compete at Tokyo
Olympics 2021. 

The Irish dressage community was 
deeply shocked to learn that Horse Sport Ireland had withdrawn the team of three qualified riders at the very last minute.

This was the first ever Irish Olympic
dressage team to qualify, and the
decision made by the High Performance Director is widely viewed as unjust.
#letthemride has been shared on social media widely by large
numbers of dressage supporters both in
Ireland, and around the world.

Both Dane and James have spent the
past 5 years and longer working towards getting their horses fit and ready for this ultimate goal. Dressage is an expensive
sport, with no financial support provided by the governing body. International
competitions alone cost into the £000’s.

Challenging this unfair decision means
employing legal representation - and
Jordan Law have been instructed to
assist in the matter. 

Jordan Law have been incredibly
generous and waived any fees. They are
providing free legal services for this
matter, however there are still high costs to be paid -  for example the SDSI
Arbitration fee is €1,000. They also need to pay Counsel.

This “go fund me” is to help pay for the
additional legal costs incurred in the
appeals procedure, to overturn the
decision made not to send a team to
represent Ireland.

Any surplus raised will be passed on to
Dressage Ireland.

These guys have been through so much. I know that they will be so very grateful to have financial support for the additional
legal expenses they will incur to fight for what is right.
