Betty Lou's Pantry www.bettylouspantry.com is a food pantry in Coopersburg PA that serves the Southern Lehigh community. The pantry started by serving veterans returning from the Vietnam war in the mid 70's. Over the years, it has grown to where in 2020 we served over 4000 people.
Much of our food comes from donations, one being the annual national letter carrier food drive, which in 2019 collected 9317 pounds for Betty Lou's Pantry - thank you letter carriers!! Using an average of $1.43 per pound, that amounts to $13328 worth of food.
Due to Covid19, the 2020 food drive was cancelled nationwide. For 2021, the United States Post Office has decided to replace the food drive with a "monetary food drive". Each pantry across the country who wishes to participate must create a means for collecting money and reporting to the USPO the dollar amount collected, hence this gofundme request.
