Samuel Narayan Recovery Fund
Donation protected
We have set up this fund for the friends and family of Samuel Narayan who would like to donate to his family to assist with mounting expenses. One week ago Samuel was stricken with meningitis and encephilitis and he is now fighting for his life in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Kaiser Roseville.
This adventurous and caring little boy is 7 years old and a student in the second grade at Leroy Nichols Elementary School in Lodi, California. Samuel adores his three siblings Billy, Matthew and Grace. Sara Gasca, Samuels mother, has taken a leave of absence from work to be by his side during this difficult time. Sara's husband and parents are driving daily from Lodi to Roseville to be with Samuel and to support Sara.
On Friday, August 19, 2016, Samuel was diagnosed with viral meningitis and encephilitis. He was admitted to Kaiser in South Sacramento. Shortly after being admitted Samuel was transferred by ambulance to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Kaiser in Roseville. Samuel became non-responsive on Monday, August 22 and he was intubated. Today, Samuels condition remains critical. Samuel has started breathing on his own and he is trying to wake up. He is moving his arms, legs and has movement in his eyes. Depending on the amount of damage that has occurred the specialists expect that Samuel will have to re-learn how to walk, talk , feed himself and other daily living activities.
Samuels mom, Sara lives in Lodi with her husband Anthony. She works in Elk Grove at UC Davis Medical Group. Samuel will require ongoing treatment and care. Occupational and Physical Therapy, doctor appointments, co-payments, gas and time away from work will be a financial hardship for this family.
Any donation that you can make will be greatly appreciated. Even the smallest donation will help to ease the stress and financial burden that this wonderful family has been faced with. While facing every mothers greatest fear Sara remians positive and strong.
If you prefer, you may donate directly to the family by mailing a check to:
