Hello everyone my name is Keneisha Elliott and I am one of the Survivor of Hurricane Melissa.My family,along with The Elliott and Mark's family is launching a GoFundMe campaign to support our parents, relatives, church members, the children and less fortunate within our community and surrounding communities of Warsop Trelawny that are greatly affected by the devastation of Hurricane Melissa.

The Story

On October 28,2025 Jamaica was hit by one of the most catastrophic and life threatening Hurricane with category 5 storm force wind of 185 mph ,40 inches of rain and massive landslides leaving 1.5 million people without electricity, water,telecommunications, homes and the basic necessity to survive.

In Southern Trelawny the Warsop division was one that received the hardest hit alongside the Troy division by sevear flooding along with powerful winds that takes off 95% of roofs leaving a total distruction of properties,businesses ,homes furnitures, appliances, churches schools,farms,animals and total depletion of all form of livelyhood leaving most people with the cloths on their back and a trail of destruction.

Why is this fundraiser important to me.

I was raised in Southern Trelawny in the Warsop/ New Road Community .The people are diverse ,proud, hardworking, religious/ God-fearing, kindhearted ,hospitable and resilient and the main cultivator of the Jamaican yam in all its variety along with cash crops that help to boots the country economy.I always feel a sense of Joy to be amoung my people because they display the true Jamaican culture , a people who stands in the mids of adversity with the determination to survive. You will never go to my community and leave empty handed they always have something to give. During the passage of hurricane melissa I have witnessed the terror, experience the homelessness,witness the great losses of my parents, neighbors and community members. I was traumatized by the pain and great sadness of my people who I love dearly including my parents who I promise, I would go away and seek help ,

I have served my community as an Philanthropist ,Entrepreneur, Community leader and a Justice of the peace and shared in the great losses also .

How will your support help

1. Emergency relief: Food , Water,Medication, hygiene kits,clothing.

2.Shelter : Assistance in repairing damage roofs ( Lumber,Zink,Plywood, Zink Nail,Hurricane straps,Windows ,Doors,solar lights,Bed, Mattress,Appliances, Cement, Building blocks.

3. Farm supplies to restore local agriculture

3.School supplies for displaced children

4 Transportation to deliver aid to remote communities.

How will the funds be used (Transparency is the Key)

Every dollar raises through GoFundMe will go directly to provide aids for the community members who are in the greatest need . I will be working with the community leaders, JP and Kevin TV to ensure every dollar goes directly to the families who are in need the most .
