LET'S SUPPORT THE CHILDREN OF THE PERUVIAN AMAZON

We are a group of volunteers who support various villages located in the Peruvian Amazon. Currently we are working in the village named La Habana, located at Kilometer 54.5 of the Iquitos-Nauta Highway - Fundo Arlette, in an area of 1000m2, Department of Loreto. This community has only one small school house with only one classroom where kindergarteners attend in the mornings followed by middle school students in the afternoons. The school's location is less than ideal as frequent and intense Amazon rain showers dampen the terrain, rendering the commute extremely difficult if not impossible.

A volunteer of our organization has recently donated land in order to build a larger school at a more suitable location. This new school would accommodate both elementary and middle school students, providing more classrooms and areas for extracurricular activities. The location of this land is more accessible than where the current school is.

The plan for this project will be set in two stages. The first stage involves the blueprints for constructing the school house. There will be 2 main levels. The first level will have two classrooms and bathrooms. The upper level will have a study room, dining room, and a nurse's office. The 2nd stage of this project relies on the collaboration with independent contractors to provide construction labor with these blueprint parameters to lower the house’s cost. This cost-effective approach will make the most out of your donations when we purchase construction materials and eco-friendly solar panels to utilize sustainable energy.

Somos un grupo de voluntarios que apoyamos a diversos Caseríos ubicados en la Amazonía de Perú, en esta oportunidad nos encontramos en el Caserío La Habana ubicado en el Kilómetro 54 de la Carretera Iquitos -Nauta, Departamento de Loreto Perú, en la actualidad la comunidad solo cuenta con una escuelita de una sola aula donde por las mañanas funciona la Guardería (Kínder) y en las tardes la Escuela Primaria, el terreno donde esta edificado por las lluvias es muy fangoso y dificulta el acceso a los niños de la comunidad, en tal sentido uno de los voluntarios ha donado un terreno para edificar la futura escuela/centro de capacitación y así trasladar a los niños a un lugar más adecuado y accesible.

Para la primera etapa necesitamos construir 2 aulas para que cada nivel cuente con su propio salón de estudios. Posteriormente se piensa construir un comedor, baños y una posta médica que atienda a la población ya que el grado de desnutrición infantil es elevado.

Por último, los pobladores colaboraran con la mano de obra para la construcción de los ambientes y abaratar los costos de edificación, por lo que lo recaudado servirá para la compra de materiales de construcción, paneles solares, tuberías, etc.

Ayudemos a que estos niños tengan mejores condiciones de estudio y sean los futuros profesionales que cambien el rumbo de su comunidad.
