Let's support our unsung hero

Many of you might have already watched the extremely moving and eloquent interview of former Tegadalay (Haleka Mieti) Tareke (courtesy of Yemane for aigaforum). Tareke embodies the life of many true sons and daughters of Ethiopia who have sacrificed tremendously to bring democracy and freedom to the people of Ethiopia. He fought against the brutal dergue for more than a decade and participated in the Ethio-Eritrea war where he endured a serious gun-shot wound. Moreover, his two sons followed his footsteps to become Tegadelti in their own right, and paid the ultimate price —their lives. Surprisingly, however, Tareke is not asking for favorable conditions for himself. Instead, he is supporting himself by working as a security guard, and he is thankful for the opportunity.

Let’s show our appreciation for his service to our country and people by donating any amount we can. The goal is to raise $5,000.00 in the next few days.
