For 62 unimaginable days, one of my best friends Roman Royale fought for his life. Cryptococcal meningitis put him in the hospital for over two months, where he underwent more than 35 intense medical procedures—each one a battle to stay alive.

If you know Roman, you know he’s always been the one lifting others up. The smile in the room. The connector. The friend you can call when you're down. Whether onstage, online, or in our lives, Roman has shown up for so many of us—now we have an opportunity to show up for him.

Although he’s finally out of the hospital, Roman’s journey is far from over. He's just beginning a long road of physical therapy, emotional healing, and trying to regain the strength to return to life as he knew it. On top of the trauma, he hasn’t been able to work for the two months in the hospital.
