We need your help and support. My name is Mark Weinstein and the best friend of Mark Wilbur.

The GoFundMe is for my dear friend Mark Wilbur. Back in April of 2023 , Mark had a hernia procedure at an out patient center in Ft.Lauderdale. Two days after coming home , he fell and shattered his right knee.After this fall, he became confused and in pain. Advertently , he refused to eat and incoherent. We called 911 and was rushed to the hospital. After a series of tests, he was diagnosed with Sepsis. Sepsis is a blood infection that attacks the tissues and organs. This lead to to Mark's many health complications. Additionally, Mark suffers with diabetes and is making recovery difficult. Currently, he has been in the hospital for 6 weeks and will be there for at least, several more weeks.

Let me tell you about our brothe Mark. I never met anyone more altruistic , sympathetic and kindhearted. He Currently volunteers at the Ft.Lauderdale correction facility. Mark speaks to inmates about the dangers of drugs and alcohol.

Also, Mark has been a sponsor for alcoholics Anonymous helping people through their addictions. He is currently celebrating 17 years of sobriety. In addition, he belongs to a men's group that help the community with essential needs like clothing, food and housing. Further, he voluntarily gives his time to Camp Boggy Creek. Boggy creek is a camp for children with serious illnesses. Mark also puts on firework shows for the Margate community using his own money.

On a personal note, back in September of 2022, Lee county was hit by Hurricane Ian. As a result , my home sustained severe damages. We didn't have electricity , gas or water. Mark who lives 150 miles from me, came to rescue my family. He brought a generator, 6 cases of water and 25 gallons of gas.

Mark is a true hero! He selfless and truly cares about people. So, let's give Mark our support !
