This past week, my cousin Allan had a medical crisis. Each day has presented several hardships and challenges for Al and Kelly. Our family has had Allan in our thoughts and prayers, hoping he will pull through in the best possible way. The latest news is that my cousin has had to have a leg amputated. Prior he had to be put in medically induced coma, and will have life altering recovery ahead. Another surgery was scheduled today, and while we wait to hear how he is doing, we can see how this will affect him and his partner Kelly. Al, who works in social work, will have a significant recovery ahead. We do not know at this time how everything will be, but we do know that this will take a financial toll on him and his partner.

For anyone who knows Allan, knows he is a likeable soul with a pleasant smile for anyone he encounters. While this life altering ordeal will be a lot for Allan, it is my hope that we can lessen the burden of other things during his long road of recovery.
