Let's show Tricia some love!!

Anyone who knows Tricia Enright knows she is special. She plays many roles to many different people. She is a proud mother to two incredible boys, Jack and Luke, and a loving wife to her husband of 23 years, Larry. Tricia is a beloved sister, daughter, aunt, cousin, and niece to her giant, loud Italian family. She is a trusted friend and confidante, a cherished coworker and supervisor. One of her most passionate roles is that as the head personal trainer at DopaFit, a boxing gym for people living with Parkinson’s disease. She is also a fashion icon, a foodie, a lover of the beach, a fierce advocate, and a beacon of positivity. She is sunshine in human form. To know Tricia is to know unconditional love.

 

Earlier this year, Tricia was diagnosed with breast cancer. Luckily, the diagnosis was made early and Tricia is receiving treatment from the one of the best oncology teams in the country at Mass General Hospital. She is undergoing a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery on Friday October 1st and will learn more about next steps after her procedure. She is so grateful to her medical team and to her wonderful, expansive support system.

 

As one can imagine, the emotional, physical, and financial toll of this diagnosis has been very difficult on Tricia and her family. The past few months have been full of long drives across the state to and from appointments, astronomical hospital bills, sleepless nights, and lots of uncertainty. The road ahead is full of much the same as we continue to learn more about the road to recovery. While Tricia would love nothing more than to continue working with her clients at DopaFit during this time, the seriousness of the procedure and physically demanding nature of her job will require her to take time off to focus on her recovery. (Don’t worry DopaFit fam- she’ll be back at work as soon as humanly possible!)

 

Going all through all of this would be enough to knock any of us on our asses. However, if you know anything about Tricia, nothing can stop her shine. Throughout the process, Tricia has remained incredibly positive and hopeful. She leads with joy and humor, making sure to show up to her doctor’s appointment in stilettos and crack a good cancer joke any chance she gets! She has also remained a pillar for her family and community, even while bearing the weight of the world. Tricia has always been focused on supporting others, but now she needs our support. Donations raised will allow Tricia to take the time she needs to heal without worrying financially. They will help cover the cost of treatment, and meals for the boys while she travels to and from Boston for appointments and follow up care.
