Fundraiser by Traeluv, honoring Khaliq Osifeso

Tracey Simmons’ cherished nephew Khaliq Zakkai Osifeso tragically passed away on Friday January 29th.  As some of Tracey’s closest friends (her “Rainbow Tribe”), we were lucky to witness the love that was shared between Tracey and Khaliq, and their devotion to one another.  They were family first, but they were also friends who loved being together.  Since he was a baby, Khaliq was always with Tracey, hanging out, traveling, experiencing life’s ups and downs, together.  Khaliq’s passing has devastated this incredible, loving family.  Khaliq was a son, a brother, a grandson, a nephew, a cousin and a friend.  His life touched many.
 
Born on September 24th, 2004, at Cedars Sinai Hospital, Khaliq was an LA kid from the start.  He loved the Lakers, skateboarding, his sneaker collection, his family (especially his little sister Kayden), video games and music.  He was constantly tapping on things, drumming up beats and then replicating them on the keyboard.  He also played the drums and trombone.
 
“My nephew was one of the sweetest kids you’d know.  He lit up a room with his smile.  Everyone loved Khaliq – he’d make you laugh and just had that thing that made people comfortable.

I tragically lost one of the greatest loves of my life. I can barely catch my breath or wrap my mind around this. My nephew was in the wrong place at the wrong time and he was tragically killed. He was 16 years old and had his whole life ahead of him.  I thank you for your love and support, and please understand that I am not ready to talk about this any further.”
 
In support of Tracey and her family, we’re raising funds to help defray some of the expenses of the funeral, and to provide support for Khaliq’s family.  We thank you for your help in supporting our beloved Traeluv and her family in their time of unspeakable loss.
