Robert Walter Haupt, affectionately known as HeHeeee, was born on September 27, 1966, in California to Robert Haupt and Sharon Johnson. He grew up in California before relocating to Hawaii, where he spent over three decades working as a bartender at Hulas, Tapas, and In Between. Robert was a pillar of the Waikiki community, known for his unwavering Aloha spirit and his signature “HeHeee.” As one of the last old-school bartenders in Waikiki, he had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel like Ohana—loved, cherished, and included.
Robert’s life was filled with unforgettable experiences, memories, and stories. From trips, camping, bar nights, and beach BBQs to countless friendships, he brought joy, laughter, and companionship to everyone he encountered. He was a skilled bartender, an excellent coworker, a dear friend, and a brother to all who knew him. His legacy is one of kindness, generosity, and a deep sense of community.
We are coming together to honor Robert’s memory with a celebration of life on January 17, 2026, at In Between Bar in Waikiki. To help make this possible, we are raising funds to support his family’s journey to Hawaii. All donations will go toward airfare, hotel accommodations, and other expenses so Robert’s sister and niece can attend the memorial and feel the love of the community he cherished. We humbly ask for any donation to help Robert’s family come celebrate his life in Hawaii at his memorial, set up by his close friends. Your support means the world to us and to Robert’s Ohana. Mahalo for helping us honor his memory.
