Lets show Jose "Alex" our Support for his Recovery
Donation protected
As many of you might know on November 26, 2019 my brother in law, Adi's husband Jose “Alex” Rodriguez fell 24 ft off a roof and was rushed to Metro Hospital Trauma ED. Since then he has had Surgery to his spleen and top left kidney because he had internal bleeding from the impact. He has lost function to his left kidney. He fractured his L2 and L3 wing on his spine. He broke his left arm and it broke through the skin so they did surgery on that as well which has left him with 6 screws and a plate in his arm. After 7 days in the hospital he thought he was in the clear and ready to go home when complications started…. Bloody noses, spiking fevers and complaining about pain on his left side which further tests revealed he had blood clots on the vessels to his liver. Due to the new found complication they put him on blood thinners through IV for 36 hours to stabilize his blood. With all that going on it guaranteed him another 5 night stay for that treatment. In the mist of the treatment he kept complaining about pain in his right wrist they did an X-ray and found a fracture. As if things weren’t tough enough with one arm down now to lose use of his other hand. After 2 weeks and 1 day in the hospital he was finally sent home. Doctors said he can not return to work for a minimum of 3 months, he has to continue to go to physical and occupational therapy a 2x a week and he has to go 2x a week to monitor his blood to make sure he is in no danger for blood clots.
As many of you may know Alex recently started up his own business “Jose Heating & Cooling” which means there is no sick time & no Insurance.
I write this with the sincerest heart… Alex is one of the most selfless people I have ever known. If you’ve had the pleasure to meet him even once you know exactly what I mean. He is the first to lend a hand, offer help and go out of his way for his family and friends. In the 20+ years I’ve known him I can’t even recall a time he was upset or didn’t have a smile on his face. As grateful as we are to still have him with us It saddens me that this has happened to him. As strong as Alex has always been this unexpected accident has been so tough on him, Adi, Kristina and Jose Jr. (Gordo). Even though he has made it home this journey to recovery is far from over.
I know a lot of you out there have been asking how they can help and what a better way than this while he will be out of work for the next 3 months.
If you have it in your heart to be of help in any way it would be greatly appreciated. No donation is to small. Thank you in advance.
