In August of 2022, Camp Greendale Directors recognized Jeanine Burns with the "staff impact award" for her relentlessly positive energy and invaluable contributions to both staff and camper morale. Jeanine has remained on the Greendale YMCA staff team since the 2022 summer camp season concluded in August, performing the daily duties of School Aged Child Care Group Leader and Assistant Preschool Teacher. Day after day, Jeanine has continued to shine as an overwhelmingly capable, strong, and key staff member in terms of her natural abilities working with children, exemplary moral compass, team player attitude, and adaptability. Her expertise in these areas can be largely attributed to her tenure and experience as a phenomenal mother raising two admirable young men. On Friday 12/9/2022, Jeanine's eldest son was subject to an accident that resulted in serious physical trauma to his head and spleen. This damage required extensive, life-saving surgery to stabilize his health.
Jeanine's impact on the youth that she serves and mentors, as well as that of her peers and family is unmatched. She generously gives to any and all who are lucky enough to know her, without the expectation of getting something in return. While life, work, and the holiday celebrations go on for many of us, Jeanine and her family have had to hit the pause button while they anxiously and courageously navigate the scary and emotional obstacle in front of them. Being that it is the holiday season - a time that is thematically dedicated to giving, please consider helping the Burns family tackle this substantial task and illustrate the reverberation of the positive energy Jeanine outputs daily, against all odds.
