This academic school year (2024-2025) will be the last year that Morningside High School located in Inglewood, CA. will have a graduating class before it closes its doors. As proud Monarchs, we share a genuine love for Morningside that runs deep, and it is because of those memories and our love for the school that the Morningside Monarch Alumni Association (MMAA) is reaching out to you. We are disappointed that our beloved school is closing because we all have fond memories of walking through those halls, hanging in the Quad, the rallies (especially the ones when we ran from the freshman side to the sophomore side), the football and basketball games, the friendships, the crushes. Attending Morningside and being a Monarch is where we shared some of the best times of our lives. It’s where we met friends that became family, met our husbands/wives. We ALL literally grew up on the corner of Yukon and 104th. Since we've had such wonderful memories of our days at Morningside, let’s work together to make the LAST senior class at Morningside High School –the Class of 2025 a memorable one!

To do so, the MMAA is launching the “Monarch Alumni’s Assisting Class 25 Project (MAAC25P)” a fundraising effort to sponsor ALL of the senior activities for the Class of 2025. The staff at Morningside estimate that in 2025 there will be approximately 120 seniors. Sponsorship for each senior would include the following: 1 prom ticket, 1 grad bash ticket, 1 senior breakfast ticket, 1 senior outing ticket, 1 yearbook, 1 class t-shirt, and 1 class hoodie and a few other goodies throughout the year. The estimated cost per senior is $520. So, our fundraising goal is to raise $62,400 (120 seniors x $520) by February 15th, 2025.

To assist us in reaching this fundraising goal, we are asking 312 Alumni to donate $200 OR 120 Alumni to sponsor a senior for the full amount of $520. No donation is too big or too small. However, if you donate $200 your name and class year will appear in the 2025 senior yearbook. But if you sponsor a senior for $520, your name, class year, and a brief message highlighting your favorite Monarch moment will also appear in the 2025 yearbook.

The Morningside Monarch Alumni Association is a non-profit 501 © (3) tax-exempt organization, and your donation is tax-deductible. As Alumni, we can't do anything about Morningside closing, but we can show them how MONARCHS CLOSE THE DOOR!!! So, let’s WORK TOGETHER to ensure that the last graduating class of Morningside High School -the Class of 2025 has a memorable senior year sponsored by OTHER MONARCHS!!
