Michael LaMacchia needs our love and support

NEW NOTE: We aim to exceed our goal to help Michael with long-term healing.

For the last 2.5 months, Michael has been dealing with a (non-smoker) cancerous tumor in his right lung. On Tuesday, August 16, he will undergo a lung lobectomy removing approximately 50% of his right lung. So far, his prognosis is good, but this is certainly a scary and uncertain time.

Michael has always pulled everyone together in a community and he is always the first one to jump in to support others in times of need. It's now our turn to show him the love back.

He has mounting medical bills and this is on the heels of 2.5 years of Covid significantly impacting his Crossroads Business. He is also going to be limited in his ability to work and perform to earn money in the next few months.

It's not Michael's nature to ask for help for himself, but I am certain this kind of assistance will go a long way. Therefore, I'm asking those of you who can - let's show Michael our love at this challenging time! As Michael always says: "we are what we do for others.”

best,

Dear Friends, Family & Crossroads Family,

Words truly fall short of explaining the appreciation
and the deepest heartfelt gratitude I feel right now for your love & support.

My goal through this specific time is to remember to feel gratitude as often as possible.
To feel the breeze, the sun, to smell food, to hear a friend's voice, to hear a bird sing.

I want you all to know you are and have been a big part of the blessings I hold dear in my life.
You make up the story and pages of my life in a beautiful way.

I am grateful to have had 2 great lungs and I am thankful how much Life, Freedom,
Joy and Bounce they gave me. As a piece of me leaves the body it does with my deepest gratitude for the gifts it allowed me.

Your kindness and love is felt so deeply - THANK YOU !
If I can ever be of service back to you on the other side of this, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Please be kind to yourself, I know it’s often easy to be kind to others and forget ourselves - please don’t forget you!

Thanks for being a great gift and joy to my life.
Love Michael LaMacchia

"As gratitude grows it gives rise to joy. We experience the courage to rejoice in our own blessings and in the good fortune of others. In joy, we are not afraid of pleasure. We do not mistakenly believe it is disloyal to the suffering of the world to honor the measure of happiness we have been given. Joy gladdens the heart. We can be joyful for people we love, for moments of goodness, for sunlight and trees, and for the very breath within our lungs. Like an innocent child, we can rejoice in life itself, in being alive."
