Pride is for fools when it comes to the needs of a loved one without life insurance. My big sister Lauren Brodie-Williams was more than just my big sister. She was my mentor, my security blanket, an amazing mom, sister, daughter & friend and a straight up hoot to chat with. On Monday March 18th I did a welfare check to find my sister unresponsive, she was gone. Emergency services worked on her for 58 minutes to stabilize her for transport after she coded (died), they revived her and she coded again in the E.R. I witnessed something that I wish on no one in life. After the shock and trauma of all of the above I had to vigilantly go through every single piece of mail she had to find no life insurance policy. We have 4 days to get my sister into a funeral home and time is sadly of the essence. I know the amount is extreme but the city morgue can hold her for longer. Crowd sourcing means that every penny, nickel, dime, quarter or dollar goes towards Lauren’s community of family and friends reuniting with her late husband Keith Williams.  Anyone who can help, the family humbly asks. Lauren was a buddy to all who knew her. She did an amazing job raising her three children, training me her younger sister, loving her younger brother AND adoring her mother Lynette Brodie as well as loving her 3 grand children while she was here. My sister is gone but I need to ensure she is never forgotten. Myself and her eldest daughter Tais Goodwin are the administrators of her final expenses.
