Hi!
Elizabeth S is my 14-year old daughter. Since she was 12, her dream has been to go to Oxford University (yes, the one in England) and become a Criminologist. She has been unwavering in her dedication towards this goal since then. She has studied very hard and maintained an A-average at school. She has lived and breathed criminology since her decision was made.
Elizabeth has always known in her heart that she had to get to England so when she saw that there was a teen internship for two weeks at Oxford University, she applied for it. She has just found out that she was accepted into the Psychology Program!!
Go Elizabeth!
What makes this so amazing is that no matter how many times Elizabeth was told that a young girl from Lanark county would never go to Oxford and that this was just a pipe dream, she never wavered from her goal.
After we stopped jumping around and crying, we started planning. This internship does come with a price tag, of course, and we are reaching out to all our friends and family to help us help Elizabeth fulfill her dream of becoming a criminologist.
Needless to say, I'm a ridiculously proud mama. This is a girl who does not give up, despite the hurdles life has put in front of her. She is funny, kind and caring. She is also ridiculously smart, crazy hardworking and shows so much promise.
Any size donation ($10, $20, $30) will help and be very much appreciated. All funds raised will go directly toward school fees and transportation costs.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. Take good care.
