We here at W.L. Davis Trucking, Inc have had the great pleasure of employing Eddy Haquet and becoming family with the Haquet family. On May 12th, 2022, Eddy JR was diagnosed with Leukemia. On this day, the world turned upside down for the Haquet family, their lil 8 year old son was in for the fight of his life.. From day one, we witnessed this family gather strength that they didn't know that they had and that from the outside watching, strength in a measure that was remarkable. Little Eddy swallowed his fears and began his his battle that at times was gut wrenching to witness. He had ups, downs, round and rounds and many repeats.. At one point, he was in the hospital for 4 months straight and so was his mother - she slept night after night bedside. His dad, Eddy spent every moment that he could right there with them as well AND he continued to work for the bulk of that duration in order to keep the lights on and food on the table. His Grandparents, his aunts and uncles and his brother and sister all rallied in support and stepped up at every hurdle and challenge to root little Eddy on. Needless to say it was a beautiful yet hellish nightmare for each and every one of them - especially Eddy. We are now in maintenance and little Eddy's body is Cancer free at this moment! He has returned to school and reunited with his classmates, he smiles from ear to ear in bliss, now that he has been given some life of normalcy back.. While mom and dad and their family are able to sleep much better, they too know that they are not quite out of the woods yet.. They are optimistic, prideful, faithful and humbled. They too could use our help in making a Haquet family vacation a reality. This family needs and deserves a moment in time to forget this nightmare and make some happy family memories on a family vacation.
