We want to thank everyone for all of their generosity. I spoke with Delvin earlier in the week. He is doing well, 'just chillin'... happy to be home. He got his power back on last Friday and is putting on a new roof this week. Happy New Year!
Once again, Delvin and I would like to thank everyone who donated. With the contributions that have been made thus far, Delvin has ordered some roofing metal to repair his damaged roof.
We will be closing the fundraiser tomorrow.
Thanks again to everyone who donated!
Hello!
As most of you are aware, Delvin is retiring at the end of the season after being with Dewey Gardens for almost 20 years.
Some of you have already reached out to me, wondering how you might be able to get him something prior to his departure. This seems like a good way to show our love, support and appreciation for Delvin.
For the first ten years he worked at DG, he also worked over night at Walmart, in order to provide for he and Nerissa along with their children. That didn't prevent him from coming to work every day, ready to go, with a smile. He has been a huge part of DG. He has been reliable, hard working and always a pleasure to be around and he will be sorely missed by myself, our employees.. both current and past, along with the customers that have gotten to know him after all of these years.
That said, it is time for him to move back home to Jamaica and enjoy the fruits of his labor. While his house in Jamaica was mainly spared by Melissa, he is planning on repairing the roof which was damaged.
Let's send him off in style! Please consider donating. No donation is to small and for all of us who have known Delvin, it truly is our way to say thank you to him.
