DCFC’s Club Motto: Passion for Our City, Passion for the Game
We are raising money for families that need help sending their player to the Presidents Cup.
Last Saturday, after making it through four rounds of group play, quarterfinal and semifinal matches, the talented, determined, unstoppable Detroit City FC 2009 Rouge team won the State Cup Championship 3-1, earning the opportunity for the first time ever to participate in the Midwest Regional President's Cup in St. Louis, Missouri. Many of these boys have been together for six years – since the very first year of DCFC Youth Soccer – and this is a culmination of their hard work and camaraderie. This tournament is not only a chance for our boys to showcase their skills on a wider, national stage but also an important part of their developmental journey as players and young men.
But we need your help! The cost of travel and accommodations presents a significant financial challenge. Reflecting the club’s mission of inclusion (never turn a player away because of financial reasons) we hope to raise our entire team up in support, so that every player can attend. We believe in the power of sports to inspire, unite, and empower our youth – and when done right, it brings out the best in all of us.
We ask you – our beloved Detroit community and beyond – to stand behind our Detroit City FC 2009 team and show them that we believe in their talent, dedication, and passion. Every donation – big or small – makes a difference. Every share, every forward, every person who can help in any way is appreciated.
Detroit City Youth soccer was founded in 2018 with the important mission to provide high-level affordable soccer to Detroit youth. Since that founding year, this Detroit City Club has grown from three teams to 37 teams while never turning a player away due to financial concerns, and 50 percent of our club has been awarded scholarships so that they can play “the beautiful game.” DCFC City prides itself on inclusion and diversity. We are kind and respectful to ourselves, our neighbors, and our opponents – and regardless of race, economic status, language, and orientation, we play with passion, joy and a fierce desire to represent this city that we love so much.
