Let's send Dalton to Clemson!

My name is Dalton Cron.  I recently graduated from Holy Spirit Catholic High School in Tuscaloosa.  In March, I was accepted into the ClemsonLIFE program.  The ClemsonLIFE program at Clemson University is designed for students with intellectual disabilities, who want to learn the life skills that will allow them to live independently.  It also will grant me the opportunity to have the college experience that I have always dreamed of.   They will teach me how to cook and take care of my apartment, help me gain job skills and how to manage my money.  When I complete the program, I will be a fully capable citizen, living on my own and giving back to the community. The program is one of the best in the country and I was one of only 6 boys nationally to be accepted into the program this year.

All of my life I have dreamed of attending college, but it was one of those things that until recently, wasn’t really a possibility.  I am so ready to take advantage of this amazing opportunity and it is such a big honor to be accepted.  But it really caught my family off guard.  See, since I have Down Syndrome, I wasn’t really “supposed to” go to college, so saving wasn’t part of the plan.  Instead, they invested heavily into my Elementary and High School Education.

Please help me achieve my dreams by donating what you can to my GoFund me account.  The money will be used to pay for my ClemsonLIFE tuition, room and board, memberships and my regular Clemson classes.  The 2 year basic program, is pretty costly, with established expenses at over $40,000 per year.  Add to that cost the many uncalculated fees and memberships, and the Basic Two Year Program will be approximately $100,000.
