Schylar adopted Trevor 2 years ago. He's a loving companion, great with people & other dogs. Due to a bite incident involving a cat, MACC impounded Trevor and declared him a Dangerous Dog. Schylar must comply with a list of requirements in a very short amount of time to prevent Trevor from being possibly put down at MACC.
While working on meeting these requirements, Schylar's also filing an appeal on the Dangerous Dog declaration. This is a first time offense, and if the declaration holds Trevor will always have to wear a muzzle and be on a 3 foot leash when outside. Both the appeal and meeting the requirements are spendy endeavors! We seek to lend a helping hand to ensure that Trevor gets out of MACC alive, back home to his family, and to appeal the Dangerous Dog declaration.
A rough cost breakdown:
$50 impound fee
$350 minimum boarding fee (he'll be impounded at least the required 10 day quarantine)
$850 to retain an attorney for the Dangerous Dog declaration appeal
$25 appeal filing fee
$500 for the Dangerous Dog license (Dangerous Dog tag, annual declared city license, and annual city registration)
$600 for the first quarter of insurance MACC requires for Dangerous Dogs
... more costs may be incurred, such as the required muzzle, 3 ft leash, training, etc.
Schylar may also need to find a new rental due to the declaration, coming up with a deposit and first month's rent on the spot. She's getting together her own funds along with her partner, but help in any amount from you kind folks out there will be tremendously appreciated!
