This is something I’ve never done before and I realize times are really difficult for many people, but considering all my daughter, Kim has done for her community, I consider this a worthy cause and a chance to pay it forward.
This is my daughter Kim’s dog, Tessa. Tessa was quicky and unexpectedly diagnosed with lymphoma during Christmas week. She is not showing any outward signs of illness and has never really been sick her entire life. Although Tessa is an older dog, the vet and my daughter do not feel that Tessa is ready for her life to be over. With treatment,Tessa has an overall good prognosis. Without treatment, Tessa would only have 3-4 weeks to live.
Kim has chosen to have Tessa treated with chemotherapy called Tanovea. It consists of only 5 total infusions; however, each infusion , re-check fee, and blood work is approximately $1000. So far, my daughter has paid $3000 for diagnostics and Tessa’s first treatment. The remaining balance for the rest of Tessa’s treatments will be approximately $4000.
Kim is a single woman, a homeowner, and a pet parent of 5! Tessa is one of her fur babies. She is also a stray pet rescuer and advocate in her community and beyond. If anyone has a problem with their animals, they call Kim. There are also people that have dropped off their pets in her front yard and left without a word. She has spent an enormous amount of her time and money throughout the years saving and caring for stray dogs and cats. She runs a Lost & Found Facebook page for her city and has TNVR’d (trap, neuter, vaccinate, return) over 100 cats. She has also volunteered at the Pinelles County Primate Rescue Preserve. As you can correctly assume, she has a tremendous love of animals. She has also been a great communicator to get attention to other projects in her community.
I know that Kim, Tessa, and I would be forever grateful for any amount you are able to donate to help pay Tessa’s vet fees.
