Let's Save Eddy's Best Friend
It's been a tough year for my kids -- the epidemic and it's associated stuff would've been bad enough, but they've had to cope with their parents separating and preparing to divorce, tons of upheaval, and generally it's just been a tough time for both of them. A few months ago, Eddy pointed out that his favorite cat, Calvin, was getting pretty skinny. After a some Googling, and a couple of vet visits, it's been determined that his best friend has thyroid cancer.
The good news is, it's easy to treat and the prognosis, if treated, is that he'll gain his weight back and will have another 3 or 4 years of healthy, happy life ahead of him.
The bad news is, that treatment involves radiation and a three-week stay at the vet, and it's going to cost about $3500.
I can't bear to see my kids lose one of their best friends. Calvin has been part of my life for thirteen years, and the boys have known him since the day they came home from the hospital. He's one of the rocks my little family is built on, and right now we need him in our lives really badly.
I'm hoping you guys can help us out.
(Please note, if his procedure ends up costing less than the money I raise, any excess funds will be donated to the Bitty Kitty Brigade, a non-profit that cares for neonatal kittens.)
Thank you.
