❤️ Sauvons la petite Carmen : une opération vitale et urgente

Bonjour,

Je m’appelle Ophélie, une Française vivant au Royaume-Uni. Depuis plusieurs mois, j’entre en contact avec Dooa, une maman courageuse de Gaza, dont l’histoire m’a profondément touchée. Aujourd’hui, avec le soutien de l’association Le Soleil se lève à l’Est, je me mobilise pour aider sa petite fille, Carmen, âgée de 4 ans.

Qui est Carmen ?

Carmen est une petite fille pleine de vie, passionnée par le coloriage, la danse et les aventures de Masha et Michka. Malheureusement, elle est née avec une malformation cardiaque sévère : son cœur ne possède qu’une seule chambre au lieu de quatre.

Elle a déjà subi une première opération à l’âge de 2 ans, mais aujourd’hui, elle a un besoin urgent d’une chirurgie de Fontan, une intervention complexe qui ne peut pas être réalisée à Gaza. Sans cette opération, ses chances de survie sont nulles.

❄️ La situation de la famille

Pour ceux qui suivent leur histoire depuis le début : la famille de Carmen a tout perdu :

• Leur maison a été bombardée.

• Ils ont perdu leurs emplois (Dooa, enseignante, et Bahaa, dans les télécommunications).

• Plusieurs membres de leur famille ont été touchés.

Heureusement, Carmen et sa famille ont récemment été évacués en Italie.

Pourquoi cette cagnotte ?

Initialement, la cagnotte a été lancée pour financer l’évacuation de Carmen et sa chirurgie. Bien que l’OMS ait pris en charge l’évacuation, nous ne savons pas encore si des frais liés à l’opération seront à la charge de la famille.

Les fonds collectés serviront à :

• Couvrir les frais de l’opération vitale de Carmen, si ceux-ci ne sont pas pris en charge par l’ONG.

• Financer sa rééducation après l’opération.

• Aider la famille à reconstruire leur nouvelle vie en Italie, car en tant qu'évacués, ils n’ont pu emporter quoi que ce soit.

À ce jour, nous sommes toujours en attente d’une date pour l’opération. Je vous tiendrai informés des avancées médicales concernant Carmen.

My name is Ophélie, a French woman living in the United Kingdom. For several months, I have been in contact with Dooa, a courageous mother from Gaza, whose story has deeply touched me. Today, with the support of the association Le Soleil se lève à l’Est, I am mobilizing to help her little girl, Carmen, who is 4 years old.

Who is Carmen?

Carmen is a lively little girl who loves coloring, dancing, and watching Masha and the Bear. Unfortunately, she was born with a severe heart defect: her heart has only one chamber instead of four.

She already underwent her first operation at the age of 2, but today, she urgently needs a Fontan surgery, a complex procedure that cannot be performed in Gaza. Without this operation, her chances of survival are nonexistent.

❄️ The Family’s Situation

For those who have been following their story from the beginning: Carmen’s family has lost everything:

• Their home was bombed.

• They lost their jobs (Dooa, a teacher, and Bahaa, who worked in telecommunications).

• Several family members have been affected.

Fortunately, Carmen and her family have recently been evacuated to Italy.

Why This Fundraiser?

Initially, the fundraiser was launched to finance Carmen’s evacuation and surgery. Although the WHO has covered the evacuation, we do not yet know if there will be any costs related to the operation that the family will have to bear.

The funds raised will be used to:

• Cover the costs of Carmen’s vital surgery if they are not covered by the NGO.

• Fund her rehabilitation after the operation.

• Help the family rebuild their new life in Italy, as evacuees, they were not allowed to take anything with them.

As of now, we are still waiting for a date for the operation. I will keep you updated on the medical progress concerning Carmen.
