Hi Guys! Chris here from Super Savvy Travelers! As many of you already know, I live in a gorgeous little Calabrian hill town named Santa Domenica Talao. Our stunning village is known for its rich history and its agricultural past. Situated in one of the most productive agricultural areas in the world, Santa Domenica Talao was a major supplier of grapes, olives, figs, lemons, cedri, truffles and a huge number of foods native to the region, over 80 varieties of food products in all.
In many little corners of our village, one could find a working olive mill.
There is one just around the corner from our new BNB, Casa Cristina. This mill was built in the 1700's and crushed olives into some of the most delicious olive oil ever dreamed up on planet earth.
Today the old mill lies in a state of ruin however it does not take much at all to bring it back to its original state and set it up as a picture perfect example of what these mills looked like and how they worked. This would provide some living history in our town for educational purposes and for tours when people arrive and want to. know the history of this amazing place.
We can rebuild our beautiful mill for 12,000 Euros.
So what do you think? Do you want to help?
