Please join us in rebuilding SeaTac BMX!!

This little track–located at North SeaTac Park, midway between Seattle and Tacoma, Washington–has been home to BMX bicycle racing since 1981. It has helped pave the way for greatness, yet the track lacks modern equipment and surfaces, safety protocols, participant programming, and community outreach.

Currently, SeaTac BMX does not align with its legacy, and we have a desire to not only correct that but create valuable recreational programming for families in an area with underserved opportunities for youth.

With the proper track set up, BMX racing is great for families and youth for the following attributes:

100% participation. No one sits on the bench.
It's fun while providing excellent physical fitness.
Strong community.
No age limit. Riders between 2 and 72 regularly race at SeaTac BMX.
Gender non-defined at the novice level.
Accessibly priced for all.

What's interesting is that this has never been a top-tier facility, but it has always fostered top-tier talent. In the last 40 years, the SeaTac BMX track has helped produce:
> 30 NAG (National Age Group) Youth Champions
> 10 Amateur National Champions
> 5 Professional National Champions
4x World Champion (GARY ELLIS)
3x World Champion (LAIN VAN OGLE)
2x World Champion (KELSEY VAN OGLE)
1x World Champion and Olympic Bronze Medalist. (JILL KINTNER)
All-time USABMX Points Leader (BRENT LEE)
Crankworks Medalist & MTN Bike Star (KIALANI HINES)
2021 Current Amateur National Champion (SEAN DAY)

Yet, the track has no bike loaner program, no accredited coaching, no youth mentorship, and has not hosted a major race in over a decade. With your help, we can change that!!

We are SeaTac BMX–a registered non-profit corporation in the state of Washington. We are here to be positive contributors for the benefit of the community. Our organization is made up of volunteers, community organizers, project planners, spokespeople, board members and business leaders. We are members of the BMX community who have aligned to apply our experience to advance a shared vision.

Our mission is to harness the excitement of BMX racing in SeaTac to inspire youth, engage families, and foster growth within our community.

Our vision is to create a modern biking destination at North SeaTac Park and create additional, accessibly-priced outdoor recreation in South King County.

Our Goal with GoFundme is to raise an initial $50,000 for facility improvements for the 2022 racing season.

Our target with these funds would be to:
Sift existing hazardous glass, rocks, and debris from the track dirt.
Rebuild / reshape / reposition race track.
Replace the current antiquated and dangerous starting gate with a safe and modern one.

As we are a new non-profit, we have aligned with Crc Cares Foundation to be our Fiscal Sponsor. This means that your tax-deductible donation will go to them, and they will earmark the funds for SeaTac BMX.

Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us!
