Hi Everyone,

For as long as I can remember, I have heard my childhood friend Tammie tell the most wonderful stories of a small seaside town in Manchester, Jamaica called "Alligator Pond". This little fishing village along the black sandy beaches of the parish forms the very core of her identity - family, laughter and LOVE.

Though she remains strong for her community against all odds, the reality is that they have lost everything as a result of the hurricane which began its path on the shores of their village at wind speeds of 185 mph, leaving nothing but destruction behind.

Their once beautiful and serene town is now reduced to rubble and debris from flattened board houses and destroyed fishing boats that were the "bread and butter" used to provide for their families. The magnitude of devastation that our Western parishes have experienced is beyond anything I have ever seen in all the decades of my life.

As such, I have created this GoFundMe to plead with those near and far to contribute anything that you are able to in order to assist my friend's family and as many other affected families as possible. All funds will be directly transferred from GoFundMe to Tammie (fundraiser beneficiary) for use in purchasing building materials, food, clothing and other life essentials for her family and others in their community.

May we remember the saying, “One, one cocoa full basket” and TOGETHER WE WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
