Let’s rally for our little fighter Zyairah

Tuesday morning August 30th 5 year old Zyairah Frisby-Winder was supposed to start her first day of kindergarten. But unlike all the other kindergarteners riding the bus to school she rode in a ambulance emergently to AI DuPont for a life saving surgery. Prior to that ride, sweet little Zyairah came in with her Mom to the emergency department with belly pain. She was full of smiles and laughs while the nurses and doctor did their assessments. Before they knew it this little 5 year old was bleeding out in front of them. She was placed on life support and taken straight from the emergency room to the operating room where our surgeon and operating room staff stopped her bleed in hopes to stabilize her for a helicopter ride to AI. Little did we know the helicopter was forced to turn around due to fog so she had to be transported by ground. After emergency surgery and 6 units of blood she was on her way to AI. It was unsure if she was going to make it there alive. But Zyairah’s fighting heart kept pumping. She made it through surgery. They found a large tumor on her right ovary. The tumor was removed along with her right ovary, Fallopian tube, and her appendix. She is now off the ventilator and starting to eat which is a miracle. But today the results of her tumor biopsy came back as a yolk sac tumor. She is in the process of staging the cancer and seeing if or where it has spread. Zyairah has 3 siblings at home. She is going to be in the hospital for a while and has a long road ahead of her. She has already proved she is strong enough to fight anything so we are good there. But while her Mom stays by her side at the hospital she is unable to work. Before she knows it bills will be piling up and she will have even more to worry about. Right now all she needs to be worried about is being there for her little girl. Can we help support this family and Zyairah through the long road ahead.
