Let’s Rally for Janice

Dear Family, Friends and compassionate hearts,

We come to you with an optimistic plea for support for our fearless mom, grandma, sister, friend and advocate - Janice Friddle. Throughout the last month Janice has endured 3 episodes of unconsciousness that have resulted in falls, the most recent of which resulted in a skull fracture, subdural hematoma and memory loss. While trying to research the root cause of these falls, specialists have discovered that Janice has Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL.) While this isn’t the root cause of her episodes of unconsciousness, it is a very serious condition that will require urgent treatment under the care of specialists at the University of Florida hospital in Gainesville.

Before Janice can begin chemotherapy, the first hurdle is to return home to Mariana to recover fully from the skull fracture and the hematoma. Once her neurologist and oncologist agree that it is safe to proceed with treatment she will return to Gainesville for her first of many rounds of chemotherapy that will result in a month-long hospital stay.

As Janice embarks on this long road to recovery, we are reaching out to her community for helping hands. Your generous contributions will assist first and foremost for travel expenses (Gainesville is 220 miles from their home in Marianna), lodging for Rick and possibly other immediate family members that travel to help care for and comfort her, medical bills, rehabilitation expenses, and basic family needs. To assist her family, we have set up a GoFundMe campaign to rally support from the community. Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a significant impact and help Janice and her family during these circumstances.

We understand that not everyone may be in a position to contribute financially, especially during this time of year. Please know that your thoughts and prayers are equally valued and appreciated. Please continue to keep her in your prayers and good thoughts. Janice has continued to call herself ‘Humpty Dumpty’ during this challenging time. We truly believe that together we can help to put Janice ‘back together again’.
