On Tuesday, May 13th, Tori had just returned home from a beautiful celebration—the wedding of a dear friend—when something didn’t feel quite right. Her feet had begun to swell unexpectedly. Trusting her instincts, she visited urgent care. That’s when everything changed.

Her blood pressure was dangerously high—255/117. The urgent care team acted swiftly and sent her to the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula. There, Tori and her loving husband, Aaron, were met with devastating news: her heart and kidneys were in serious distress. In a matter of hours, she was rushed into surgery to have a port placed in her neck so she could begin emergency dialysis that very night at 10 p.m.

In just one day, their world shifted completely. What followed has been a whirlwind of treatments, surgeries, and medical challenges—all handled with incredible courage by Tori, and steadfast love by Aaron.

This unexpected medical crisis has placed a heavy emotional and financial weight on this young couple—one they never imagined they’d carry. As Tori begins the long road ahead, including regular dialysis treatments and the hopeful search for a life-saving kidney donor, their journey will continue far beyond the hospital walls.
