Hi, we´re Sean & Michael — two friends (one from Cork, one living in Spain) who wanted to make learning Irish feel more like a game than a grammar test. So we invented one.
We’ve already launched and tested the game. We just need your help to print and deliver enough copies to make a real impact — fast, fair, and for the future of Irish.
Why Botín was created
Sean explains on YouTube - https://youtu.be/tNvhkkDV8Jo
What is Botin Ireland?
It’s the first-ever bilingual Irish-English board game — a fast-paced, cops-and-robbers race across all 32 counties of Ireland.
✔ Teaches vocabulary and place names
✔ Teaches history and heritage
✔ Designed for fun, not exams
✔ Already tested and loved in schools
✔ Endorsed by teachers and supported by Enterprise Ireland
Think Monopoly meets Gaeilge... with a speed boat.
Our Mission:
Give one free game to every school in Ireland.
That’s 5,000 schools. That’s 5,000 opportunities to make Gaeilge fun again — in classrooms, staff rooms, and kitchen tables across the country.
To do that, we need to raise €150,000 to cover:
• Ethical manufacturing
• Game materials, boxes, and printing
• Distribution to every school in Ireland (North & South)
• A free downloadable teacher’s pack to support class use
Why It Matters:
Irish is our first language — but for many students, it's still their last love.
We want to change that.
No pressure, no repitition-learning… just pure gameplay, excitement, and sneaky vocabulary learning.
Kids want to play it.
Teachers want it in the classroom.
Parents love it too — especially when their kids teach them some Gaeilge.
Where Your Money Goes:
Amount Raised Impact
€5 €10 €20 We know times are tight, but every contribution is importantant to us. Even €1 helps.

What Teachers Are Saying:
“The kids didn’t even realise they were learning Irish. They just wanted to keep playing!”
– Aoife, primary school teacher, Limerick
“Best Gaeilge activity I’ve used in 20 years of teaching.”
– Tomás, Gaelscoil principal, Galway
If you're Irish… or just wish you were:
Help us give something truly unique to Irish students.
We’re not just reviving the language — we’re giving it legs, wheels, and a Garda chopper.
We’re already hearing from Irish-Americans who want to bring this game into their homes and schools too — and we’re working on ways to make that happen.
Whether you donate €10 or €10,000 — you’re part of the story.
Sean with Principal Tomas o' Se and students of Gaelscoil De Hide in Fermoy
Donate now, share with friends, and let’s put Gaeilge back where it belongs: in our mouths, in our homes, and in our hearts.
Go raibh míle maith agat!
