Hi, my name is Debbie Malone and I am Camden's grandmother. This young man is incredible and really needing some help right now. He's a pretty private person and doesn't like people to make a fuss over him. However, now, he really needs our help. Camden moved to Seattle the end of December 2021. In April of this year, all of these symptoms started and he has walked himself to the ER multiple times because his symptoms keep changing, all of which is common with his diagnosis. There are a lot of things going on in the world right now, but I hope you will consider helping him out. His work schedule is greatly affected by this and some days he can't even make out faces. We are just trying to help get him to the surgeon and still have his place to live and food on the table.
On Sunday, April 24th, Camden attempted the OKC Memorial Maraton for the second year in a row. His hopes were high to repeat his first place age division finish. He had a great pace and was set to repeat. About mile 15 he reported this his arms wouldn't swing any longer as he ran. Just before mile 17 his exertion exceeded his caloric intake, and he bonked. He reported continuous headaches until he returned to Seattle on Thursday. As his mom drove him to the airport, he reported having an influx of floaters in his vision. Weird, but no other symptoms other than the headaches. By the following Sunday, he was experiencing some pretty bad headaches with light flashes. He thought it was a migraine and was concerned enough to have it checked out at an Urgent Care. Urgent Care sent him away and told him to see his eye doctor. He called an eye doctor the following day (Monday) and got in. They told him to walk to the nearest ER which was a few blocks away and that he might be having an eye stroke. After an MRI and blood work, it was confirmed. He has a cavernous malformation near his occipital lobe. It affects his vision and is now causing seizure like symptoms. Since the diagnosis he has had to return to the ER for worsening symptoms. He is on anti-seizure medication and will meet with the Neurosurgeon on Tuesday, May 10th. Hoping to learn of a plan after that appointment.
