Lets MOVE Mountains for Kris Gowens

It is time for all family, friends and Norman High alum to pull together and move mountains for Kris Jones Gowens.
Kris’ problems started in approx April 2017 with dizziness, mild headaches and hearing problems and the time, she was living in Texas.
A couple of months later, in June 2017, Kris moved back home to Norman. Her symptoms were pretty persistent and some even getting worse. After numerous appointments with her doctor, was continually told that she was suffering from Vertigo.
Additional symptoms developed (vision problems, major fatigue, and falling) plus original symptoms continued to worsen over the next 9 months or so.
Kris has seen other doctors and specialists over the past couple of months, plus had more extensive tests and scans done. On June 1, 2018, Kris had an appointment with a neurologist and we were finally able to get answers.
Per her appt with Dr Cook on June 1 ... we found out that Kris has 2 tumors. One which is not of great concern, a meningioma and is behind her forehead. The other tumor is "large" and causing pressure on her brain. Dr. Cook will not know what this tumor is until a biopsy is done.
She also has hydrocephalus, which is fluid on the brain as a result of the tumor and it's also right up next to the brain stem.
So at this point ... the first step, Dr Cook wants to get a more detailed MRI. We are hoping to know about MRI appt this week. He hopes to reroute the fluid and biopsy the tumor, which will be done thru endoscopic surgery. At that point, it could be on to radiation and/or surgery ... Unknown at this point.
Kris’ condition has deteriorated in the past couple of weeks due to the continued pressure on her brain (extreme dizziness, can't sit up straight, can't walk straight and falling more). She hasn’t driven in the past month and she has had to stop working.
This GoFundMe account has been set up to assist Kris with medical bills plus any living expenses, since she no longer has income coming in at this time as well as thru surgery and recovery period.
Kris and I have been BFFs since we were 16 years old and it kills me to see her going thru this. I’m helping her get this account set up because she is just basically overwhelmed with everything at this time. I will also update this account as news develops.
I would like to ask that you please keep Kris and her family in your thoughts and prayers. Plus I’d like to personally say “thank you” for any assistance you’re able to give.
