Ciao a tuttə,

sono Alessia Stracuzzi, coreografa emergente italiana con tanta, o forse troppa, voglia di creare e realizzare i miei progetti. Don’t Be Shy è un progetto performativo che sto sviluppando con e per le mie splendide collaboratrici e performer Chiara Consiglio, Chiara Mesiani, Marea Mammano e Francesca Sacchi. Questo lavoro è nato dal nostro incontro, dall’urgenza di esplorare nuove forme di espressione attraverso il corpo e dalla volontà di condividere un processo creativo profondo.

Dopo una prima residenza indipendente a Berlino, abbiamo finalmente l’opportunità di portare avanti il progetto questa primavera al Teatro del Lido di Ostia. Percepire il supporto delle mie artiste, con il loro tempo e la loro voglia di crederci e andare avanti, ha un enorme valore per me e proprio per questo sento la responsabilità di trovare una soluzione per rendere possibile questa esperienza. Essendo ancora un progetto indipendente e senza finanziamenti, stiamo affrontando difficoltà nel coprire le spese per questa nuova avventura. Abbiamo provato a ottenere finanziamenti europei senza successo e siamo ancora alla ricerca di nuove opportunità. Ed ecco che il crowdfunding entra in gioco!

Viviamo in paesi diversi – Belgio, Germania, Italia e Spagna – e ogni contributo, grande o piccolo, può fare davvero la differenza per aiutarci a proseguire il nostro lavoro.

Don’t Be Shy è un’opera multidisciplinare che esplora il rapporto tra corpo, spazio e percezione sociale, concentrandosi sulle persone socializzate come donne e sull’affermazione della propria presenza. Attraverso il movimento, il suono e l’interazione con i materiali, creiamo un ambiente vivo e in continua trasformazione, uno spazio di ricerca e affermazione.

Hello everyone,

I’m Alessia Stracuzzi, an emerging Italian choreographer with a lot—perhaps too much—desire to create and bring my projects to life. Don’t Be Shy is a performative project I am developing with and for my wonderful collaborators and artists Chiara Consiglio, Chiara Mesiani, Marea Mammano, and Francesca Sacchi. This work emerged from our encounter, from the urgency to explore new forms of expression through the body, and from the desire to share a deep creative process.

After an initial independent residency in Berlin, we now have the opportunity to continue the project this spring at the Teatro del Lido in Ostia. Feeling the support of my fellow artists through their time and belief in moving forward with this has immense importance for me, and because of this, I feel a responsibility to find a way to make this experience possible. As it is still an independent project without funding, we are facing challenges covering the expenses for this new venture. We have tried to secure European funding without success and are still looking for new opportunities. This is where crowdfunding comes in!

We live in different countries—Belgium, Germany, Italy, and Spain—and every contribution, big or small, can truly make a difference in helping us move forward with our work.

Don’t Be Shy is a multidisciplinary piece exploring the relationship between body, space, and social perception, focusing on those socialized as women and the affirmation of their presence. Through movement, sound, and interaction with materials, we create a living, ever-changing environment—a space for research and affirmation.
