Let's make things better for Kristian

Hello po, I am speaking in behalf of our kababayan, international student, Kristian Earl de Castro. She's studying Early Childhood Learning at Keyano College and just started this January Winter 2024 intake.

However, she might be unable to continue because of her current situation. She was diagnosed with a brain tumor recently. She underwent surgery 2 weeks ago and had this large tumor removed. I told her it was still a blessing because she was in Canada, and she didn't have to pay anything for her surgery.

She was admitted to the University of Alberta Hospital for the procedure and when she sent me a message I was also in Edmonton at that time. I told her I would visit her the next day, but unfortunately, she was already scheduled to be discharged the same day.

They still do not know the nature of the tumor but her doctor said, with the signs she’s showing, there’s a great chance it is cancerous. She is scheduled to undergo further treatment and needs to travel back and forth from Fort McMurray to Edmonton for this.

I asked her consent to use her pictures to raise awareness and seek help from our kapwa international students here in Canada. She never asked for help, she merely reached out to tell me how she was doing and worried she might not finish school because of her situation.

I am reaching out as admin of this group po to all of you po especially those who were helped by this group, if we can help her our fellow member this way po. A small amount goes a long way. Especially since she needs to travel from one place to another for her ongoing treatment. She had to stop working, she had to stop going to school. Let us make things better for her and her family.
