Barbara is a single mom who has fallen on hard times, and her friends want to help her and her daughter have a VERY Merry Christmas. Barbara worked at Venice Regional Hospital in maintenance until early last September. She was experiencing heart problems, and was taken to the hospital where she underwent open heart surgery to replace her heart valve. Since then she has been recovering, but unable to work, and so is falling waaay behind financially. Her daughter Mercedes is an excellent student at Venice High School, and a wonderful person. She has been strong for her mom, but times are very tough. They need to get a new apartment, and the funds necessary for a deposit and first month's rest.
