Let's make Devon great!

Hi, my name is Michael Bagley. As Chair of Reform UK - South Devon Constituency, I'm raising this fundraiser on behalf of the branch. You can see some of our members in the photo!
What is our mission?
• FAMILY. We believe the importance of family has been forgotten, yet it is central to our well-being. Policies, both locally and nationally, should reflect what’s good for our families. Planning decisions on housing and businesses, for example, should be made on the basis of keeping families together, by building genuinely affordable homes for local people, and providing opportunities for local businesses. And farmers should be able to leave their farms to their children! Charity begins at home, not in Westminster or Brussels.
• COMMUNITY. We form a community down here in Devon. We have a shared narrative, as well as a pride in shared values and friendships. We have a history. Our hackles rise when people criticise Devon! But they are sometimes right in their criticism. There is too much rich farmland being taken up by solar panels and windfarms, breaking up families and the businesses that support them. Too many properties are becoming second homes, pushing up the price of houses for everyone and forcing communities to break up, as young people move away. If you are trying to build a small business in your community, where is the support? And don’t get me started on potholes!
• COUNTRY. We also believe in our country and British values. Our history is something to be proud of, not denigrated. We were the first country to abolish slavery; we spent millions of pounds, and thousands of lives, policing the slave trade. We believe in the notion of the nation-state, not the globalist doctrines of the EU, the WHO, the WEF or the UN. Only by removing ourselves from these global dependencies will we achieve energy and food security. We should provide our own energy and Devon farmers should be assisted to grow more food – crops and livestock. And we should secure our borders from mass and illegal migration, in order to preserve housing, education and other resources for those born in this country!
Why this fundraiser?
Having achieved a successful result in the general election, Reform UK South Devon Branch is turning its attention to the Devon County Council elections, which are on 1st May 2025. And for that, we need funds.
Unlike the other three main parties, Reform has little money, and the constituency branches get no funding from the national party. We're standing in three Devon wards, covering 30,000 voters. To run a successful campaign, we need to: buy and distribute leaflets and garden boards, furnish and support street stalls, book rooms for meetings and a score of other things. And we need to travel across the constituency, which is vast, stretching from the foothills of Dartmoor in the north to the cliffs of Prawle in the south. We estimate that this will cost a minimum of £3,000.
So, if you believe in our cause, any contribution you can make, however small, would be much appreciated. And please visit our Facebook page: Facebook page.
